Is Firmware Version 1.06.00 the most up to date update? Just got me a 996XT for Christmas and I am now ready to update the Fireware. Anything I should be aware of before, during or after I do this?

People are not understanding that the 996XT hasn't been changed to show that there is an update coming. You can still download the latest RELEASED FIRMWARE off of the 396XT firmware update page! That would be version 1.10.00. Please understand people!

The release notes are on the page. To download the latest released firmware for the 396XT, download the 1.10.00 zip file in the attacthments. Latest released for 996XT is 1.06.00, for the 396XT 1.10.00.

its because new firmware is coming. it says on the update page links are broken until its released.

Since this thread is causing confusion with the upcoming
396XT firmware update I am going to lock it for now.

EVERYONE PLEASE READ:

There is an upcoming 396XT Firmware update.
This update is Pending Release and HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED YET.
The only info on this Firmware Update is what has been posted on the
Uniden 396XT Firmware update site which can be found at:
http://info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view/UnidenMan4/BCD396XTFirmwareUpdate

This update improves performance on APCO Project P25 sites operating in Linear Simulcast Mode (LSM).

That is the only info available at this time. There is no info yet on any other updates for any other models.
Please be patient a little longer. You will not miss out on any updates as I am sure UPMan will make sure everyone is notified by posting an announcement thread here in the Uniden Forum.
