bcd396xt firmware update help

im trying to update my bcd396xt to the new firmware and cant seem to understand the process of the steps. can you please help and walk me through it?

step 1.......getting it on my computer from uniden website.

First, go here. BCD396XTFirmwareUpdate < UnidenMan4 < TWiki To put it simply, the download instructions read like this: Download BOTH links in step 1, unzip both files, install the firmware updater, then run the BC_VUP program. Make sure to follow ALL instructions on the page to initialize your scanner for uploading said firmware to your scanner. To send your scanner to "firmware upgrade" mode, follow the instructions in the section entitled "Update Troubleshooting". Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving!
