BCD396XT -- Want FM broadcast channels when starting up

Was wondering if this scanner can be programmed to start scanning FM broadcast stations when powered up. So far I have been able to at least learn how to scan 88-108 MHz band. But still trying to learn how to program in channel. Having never used dynamic memory, it will take a while I guess. Anyway my question is I want this radio to start playing FM stations when powering up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ordered USB cable if that is what is required. Thanks in advance.

Sure. Turn on the FM Service Search, then turn off the scanner. When you turn the scanner on, it will resume the last mode.

Thanks for the prompt response. Yes I did notice that if I turn the radio off on FM search mode, it comes up on that mode again when turned on. But once I press scan button it starts scanning other frequencies that are stored. This brings me to another question of how to save FM channels first like in regular scanner. Thanks.

You can do a quick save. Just press E when it is stopped on a frequency you want to save. The scanner will create a system called "Qck Save Cnv Sys" with a channel group named "Qck Save Grp" and store the channel there.

I was able to create a new group and couple of stations... I know I am still spending some time learning new buttons and features. And there must be a way to press few buttons to activate just the group I want to scan. In my case new group is "FM Stations" and I want this group to start scanning by pressing few button. My experience with other scanner was I press scan and just press 1 or 2 or some group where the interested channels are. When I press MENU and Program System, there are 36 groups already which I don't need to scan. My question is how do I just choose the one I want?

Assign a SQK to the system (System/Site quick key). Then, it will turn off by pressing 1, 2, etc.
