Hey all,

I recently programed my bcd396xt for WISCOM (a p25 system) and thereafter entered 3 sites and 1 group. I entered the one group with the intent to listen to only that specific DEC code; however, I am getting other talkgroups (none of which I have entered in the DEC number) any suggestions to mitigate this issue? Thanks in advance.

Most likely you have that Favorite List with ID Search turned on. Menu, Manage Favorites, Select list, review or edit system, Select System, Edit system options, about the fifth option down, ID Search, select and turn to off

Instead of Favorites, say System; the 396XT doesn't have favorites....and here's a manual that will help you out....

Check the display while scanning. If it says "ID Search" - that's your problem.

Change to "ID Scan" mode.

If in ID Search, press the Function button and then Scan to switch to ID Scan..

I accidentally turned on ID Search and couldn't figure out why I wasn't hearing the usual traffic on one of my Favorite's Lists on my SDS100. Once I figured that out I turned it back to ID Scan.

That was fun thinking my unit was broken ...
