My high school runs DMR with RAS, which is Motorola Proprietary, and you can not hear them, but "E" does not show on the screen of either my SDS200 or my TYT MD-380 UHF DMR handheld.
Thanks for the answers
for clarifications : RAS is NOT encrypted voice
So Is anyone here have BCD436 and can hearwith it communications on RAS systems ?
and if not is there any scanner that can ?
and for the answer that it is not an issue for any scanner does it include (tested on ) bcd436 ?
Thanks forward
R
Just to be clear RAS and encryption are NOT the same thing: Motorola systems can run RAS without encryption and DMR systems can run with encryption but not RAS.
I have successfully used a BCD436HP, TRX1, AOR DV10 and discrim tapped scanners with DSD+ on Moto systems running RAS.
Whistlers TRX scanners can only decode RAS systems in conventional mode, there's a special flag for it that needs to be enabled, but that option are missing from trunked systems. The TRX-E firmware have no RAS capability and Whistler said they forgot about it and would add that in their next upgrade, but then they closed down software development, at least temporary.
