BCD436 no longer receives AAFD...

I know that Anne Arundel "broke the patch" between P16 and the now operable P25 encrypted system the other week. Since then I can no longer receive AA fire communications or MSP Glen Burnie. Is my BCD436 incompatible with P25? Any way to upgrade it? I have already updated through Sentinel and re-programmed a new channel but no AA communications. I still receive Baltimore City Police/Fire, Baltimore County Police/Fire, Howard and Worcester County MSP and Fire. Thanks for any help.

I believe if it gets Baltimore County it should be able to get AA

MSP and AACo Fire are not encrypted. AACo Police is encrypted. MSP operates on the FIRST system; there is no longer a MSP tg on the new county P25 system. All this said, you might be experiencing simulcast distortion at your location and there is little you can do fix that without buying a better radio.

Something is probably amiss in the programming of the Uniden BCD436HP then. You might try posting your scanner’s file and those of us here might be able to help get the file operational.

Go to the File tab in Sentinel and click on Export to hpe file (Favorites List). You will need to zip the exported file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.

Receiving "nothing" is a symptom of the phenomenon. But as others have suggested, check your programming before dropping down money on a new radio..
