Greetings! Because I am a dink and overtightened the rubber duck factory antenna on my 436, the contact points severed and the radio is essentially deaf. I had very marginal success resoldering the contact point myself, but then the same issue in perpetuity when I screw the antenna back on. I took it to a computer repair shop where they tried their best, but the deafness returned after a short time. Can anyone provide any views of how the antenna contact points should look or maybe anything else to give me a basis to try to fix this once again to restore its performance? I appreciate any assistance.
Thank you!

I’ve seen pictures of the antenna contact points of various scanners in the past in this forum. Try doing a search for broken antenna mounts for your specific radio. And BEFORE you repair the broken solder joints, make sure the antenna connector is firmly tightened to the case, where it’s not loose. (If you wait to tighten the connector to the radio case until after the soldering repair is done you may end up breaking the connection during your attempt to secure the connector and have to start all over again!)

Thank you, I will search for this. The BCD436HP is a nice radio and I would like the antenna to perform as it once did. I appreciate the feedback! Happy New Year!
