Windows 7 Drivers

Is there a link to the serial drivers for Windows 7?
I get an error when trying to connect my HomePatrol, BCD436 and BCD536

Thanks

Every time I connect it to the pc as a serial connection I get an driver error and if you look at the device manager, it shows a problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software....no luck.

I was repeatedly struggling with this until I read in one of the thousands of 536 threads that if you download the drivers to your desktop screen then browse on your own rather than letting Windows search for drivers it will load from that location.

That did it for me and now the drivers are on COM8 (in my instance).

Off in a far away place, far from u.......
Funny I never loaded the drivers.

I am using a Asus Laptop that is a year old running Windows 7 and use it to program my HP-1. I took the 436 out of the box yesterday set it up and plugged into the PC with no issues. Loaded my favorites and off I went.

Maybe the drivers are the same between the HP-1 and x36 units? I do not know.

But all was plug and go from the start yesterday when I got the 436. Never asked for drivers or even had to look for them.

The drivers are for the serial connection. If you are just connecting to the device for the SD card windows will usually find and install that driver for you. If you plan on using the serial connection you will need the driver for the serial connection.

Plug in the cable. When prompted by the operating system, point to that file.

If you are not prompted, open device manager. Go to the device in the list (if it isn't working properly, there will be a triangle/exclamation mark next to it), right-click to Properties, then update driver and point to that file.

All set Upman

Thank you for info as I did locate the file and entered it into correct drive. All I need now is to be able to use the rear RS232 instead of front USB.
