I have been looking to possibly upgrade my BCD396XT to the newer BCD436HP. I use this primarily as my main scanner at home but like being able to grab and go with it at various times. Having multiple scanners is just not an option for me at the moment...
I read the following in the 436HP manual:
When the scanner is turned on, the scanner does not charge the batteries.
When the scanner is turned off, the scanner will charge the batteries
So this seems counter productive to me for a base scanner that I might want to grab and go with that has been running all day. Might even be a deal breaker for me. I am perplexed as to why Uniden wouldn't allow charging while the scanner is on just like my 396XT.
How are others managing this scenario?
