This morning I turned on my BCD436HP (my BC 780 XLT is always on) and made this recording.
My BCD436HP is only set to Verona, NJ and they are EDACS. The transmission is from the Essex County Mutal Aid Fire system.
Timeline:
0:00 to 1:20 BCD436HP
1:21 to 2:18 BC 780 XLT (you still hear in the background the static from the BCD436HP)
2:22 to 4:05 BCD436HP
Notice from 2:51 on the static at the end goes away on the BCD436HP. Why? So it is working properly all of a sudden.

Turned it off and on a few times and it was fine. Turned it back on again and back to end of transmission static.
Ugh! This seems like it is easily fixable (firmware). I just hope sooner than later as the static is louder than the transmissions themselves and very annoying.
