Not sure if this is the proper place so my apologies if not. Are there any utilities or programs for the BCD436/536HP that utilize data output like PRo96COm does? I'm aware of ProScan and it's a good start, but it has limitations.

Are you asking about scanner control software or software that would work with a tap on a discriminator?

Scanner decoding software. I'm familiar with a discriminator tap. Not what I'm asking.

I think Uniden opted to forego the data output in favor of the "extreme functions".

(queue a bunch of Uniden flame posts regarding that choice...)

I won't flame, but the extreme features in the X36HP are lacking and need to be addressed in firmware updates. My 396t is more practical for some of those. I will say the Discovery modes are nice!

So you see the flames from future posts without any need to wait? Kewl. What model TARDIS do you have?

I'm surprised the flamers haven't posted yet.

The 436 and 536 both support a 10 bit raw discriminator output over USB, the command is shown on page 32 of the manual here:-

Unfortunately I've yet to find any software that has implemented it.

I didn't realize the 436 had this. How difficult would it be to reconvert that data back into useable discriminator audio? One of the reasons I'm about to purchase a WS1088 alongside my 436 is so I have reliable discriminator output in the field.

Hello,

I am not aware of any software yet. It does work as I wrote a simple program that displays the output in a scope and also an audio spectrum display.
