I am interested in purchasing a BCD426HP to listen to Springfield, MO police, fire, Greene County Sherriff, Fire, and Emergency Management. Other County Police & Fire, Missouri State Hwy Patrol as I did with my Radio Shack Pro-95 scanner. I have only been able to pick Greene County Fire at 154.4000
How can I tell if purchasing the BCD426HP will allow me to hear the Municipalities desired?
The 436HP, or it's base/mobile sibling the 536HP is capable of receiving the
MOSWIN (statewide) system that these agencies use. However, the 800MHz site in Greene County is Simulcast, which can cause problems for scanners other than the SDS100 or SDS200. See
this thread down in the Missouri state forum.

Simulcast issues are extremely location specific. If you are in the
right spot, such as near one of the sub-site transmit towers, or one where signals from all but one location is blocked (or at least the signal is reduces) by terrain, or something at your location (such as aluminum siding on your house, or foil backed insulation in the walls), so that only one strong signal is being received by the scanner, the 436HP may work. But when out & about in your car or truck, driving around the area, simulcast distortion may ruin your reception.
