I have noticed a very annoying snapping click noise in my BCD536HP headphone output. The noise happens each time the squelch opens or closes. It is a single "click" sound that is quite distinct. I don't hear this noise through the internal speaker. This noise is very noticeable when I connect the headphone output to an external amplified speaker (Bose SoundLink Mini). Additionally, there is a audible 60 Hz hum in the Bose speaker when the scanner's squelch is closed. The hum goes away completely when the squelch opens. The Bose speakers is operating on its internal battery (not connected to it's charger).

As a comparison, I connected my BC125AT handheld scanner to this same external speaker. There is no clicking noise with this scanner but I do get a comparable amount of 60 Hz hum when the scanner squelch is closed while it is connected to it's USB charger. When disconnected from the charger, the 60 Hz hum is not present.

Have other owners noticed this clicking noise? It sounds like the headphone amp is being switch on/off with squelch gate.

Thanks!

When did you buy it and what is the serial number? (just last 5 digits is fine. You can omit the last one or two if you don't want to post the whole number)

This is a 48000 series serial numbers device produced after the headphone recall issue.

OK. You see what I was getting at.

The headphone jack is designed for headphones, so there is likely an impedance mismatch with your speaker.

The strange thing is I get the same noise with ear bud type headphones too. I get the snapping noise with 2 different types of ear buds.
