BCD536HP Speaker Audio Quality

My 536 audio is fair to poor. It sits beside my 996xt and it is just not even close to it.

My audio has no range and is "thin" at best. It is not robust in level either.

This is a green dot version that was reworked after the initial release.

Anyone else suffer from poor audio quality?

The only audio issue I've noticed with my 536 is the more bassy audio on P25 phase 2 traffic. Otherwise, it sounds great using either the internal speaker or an external one, when used mobile.

The speaker is cheap,try an external speaker ,or headphones it works a little better,this scanner is muffly compared to the 996xt which is crisp and clear.No you are not crazy.Sold mine and went back.

k2cool thanks, simple plain old conventional analog audio does not measure up to my other radios, I did think I was cracking up.

I do enjoy listening to the 996XT audio much more.

I got to say the audio on this radio is a big disappointment.
I use an external speaker and it's better, but I must say it is
Mediocre at best. The audio on my 996 is much better.
