996xt
I purchased one of the early Uniden BCD536HP and it works 100% Bought it from Gigaparts, all features work including headphones. My 996xt and my 396xt was the same way. As a matter of fact I have been buying Uniden scanners since they started and have not had a bad one yet.
I think the 996T had a better speaker ,moved that speaker to my 996XT.
The 996XT has clearer audio on p25,the 536 is too bassy.
I plan on replacing its speaker with a 996T factory speaker,for now I relocated the 536HP's to the top of the silver inside cabinet and cut out the metal holes totally for clearer sound!Close,but not quite 996XT sound.....
I tell ya though,its alot better and easier to hear voices.
I put an external speaker on and its even bettter,but thats a sloppy mess to me.
