BCD996P2 and Magellan Meridian

Hi everyone! I'm thinking about purchasing the BCD996P2. I would like to add the GPS to it, but wanted to know if I can use an older handheld scanner that I have. I have a Magellan Meridian GPS with a 9 pin serial connector that looks like it should connect to the scanner. Will the scanner be able to read the data from the Meridian GPS?
