BCD996P2 discontinued?

The BCD996XT and earlier models were discontinued in 2018-2019 time frame, the BCD996P2 is still an active model.

Just to put a ribbon on this, I spoke with Uniden Customer Support a couple of weeks ago and they confirmed the 996p2 has been discontinued. Oh well.

You either spoke to someone who doesn't know what they're talking about, or you misunderstood. I reached out to them and received this reply today. Now we can put this to rest.

I called Uniden Customer Support at (800) 297-1023, a contact number I got from their Facebook page.

"Hello, I have a question on one of your radio scanner products"

"Yes, sir, how can I help you?"
"Can you tell me if the BCD996P2 has been discontinued?"

"Hold on".....pause while on hold.
"That model has been discontinued, yes. But it's still available for reference info on our website on the INFO ONLY page"
"Thank you"

Obviously, as you informed me, I misunderstood.

Or maybe the Tier 1 support guy misunderstood and passed that along to you.
