Hello

I picked up a BCD996P2 today and Freescan along with a paid subscription to Radioreference. I'm able to pick up the airport traffic from the east end. I'm also listening to the online scanner traffic for London EMS. The scanner only picks up the occasional TG 35328 but none of the London main EMS traffic that the online (streaming) service does. I've also heard no OPP traffic on Fleetnet.

1) Is there anyone in the London area willing to help me in person, set this up? I'll pay :)
2) In order to receive Fire, o I use the Canada -> London -> Middlesex - APCO 25 under Freescan?
3) I'm now hearing LFD Tac 1 on the scanner whereas the online scanner is not.
4) Being in the Argyle area, is there a better antenna I should be using? (I know there is but not sure what type)
5) Fleetnet imports into Freescan as MoT VHF Band, should it not be MoT Custom/Reband II?

For all things FleetNet and FreeScan make sure you start here:

As for system types Fleetnet is a Motorola Type II system, VHF. So that is correct. City of London is a P25 system with all police talkgroups encrypted.

If you are receiving intermittent traffic then it could be a reception issue. Try moving around the house while watching the signal strength indicator on the screen to see if any particular area is better than the others.

Be sure to add " LONDON CACC" to the Bell FleetNet OR a new system.
Are you in Search or Scan mode? Receiving constant signal/reception?

I say this every time (as do others) a Discone antenna needs to placed as high as possible outside on a roof with good quality coax to maximize signal incoming.
If you use stock telescopic whip (you have not mentioned) you are severely limiting what you can hear in your given area.
There are many types of antennas to use, but if you are new, best to start with wide band antenna as scanner is wide band receiving device and in any given area there are potentially many different voice channels to monitor .
