I use ProScan to stream, and I'm finding that every couple of days, I'm having to disconnect the USB cable from the front of the radio, and connect it back, and re-select the port in ProScan. Has anyone else had this odd issue and can tell me what the permanent "fix" is?

very likely something with your computer is taking the port over. I have several 996P2 radios that are remote and have never needed to be unplugged and plugged back in for the last 3 years.

What type of scanner?
Does your computer reboot prior to this happening?

{edit} Nevermind on the type of scanner. I see it's a BCD996P2.
You may want to use the rear port along with a null modem adapter or cable. It will fix it.
