BCD996P2 not hearing everything

I have the P2 of a friend here, I can't get it to receive the same signals that my Homepatrol 1 is getting.
I must be doing something wrong. I am using freescan, and getting the info from radioreference, but to no avail!
K4DPS' video show him importing the interoperability into the freescan then he gives it a quick key, but when I try that it says "Changing this will change the quick key for all of the sites under this system"
I don't understand!
I keep seeing NFM popping on the screen when it is scanning digital I think.
Any ideas?

Probably programmed wrong.....

Try and compare a steady signal like a weather (WX) channel's signal strength from both scanners.
Obvious use the same type of antenna. If they are not the same, there might be an issue.

Also, PM me with what you want to listen to and I will make a file to send you to test for the BCD996P2.

Are you using SCAN ID mode or SEARCH ID mode?
