Hello all. I'm a 10+ year Uniden user but I've never encountered an issue like this before. I've had my BCD996P2 for a few years now, last week however, an odd series of issues started occurring: my scanner is searching through its lists very slowly (nearly a 2-minute cycle compared to a normally ~30-second cycle), it says it is receiving signal from trunked sites I am not even close to, and any conventional frequency that does not have an associated PL/DPL tone is giving off strong static (I believe that this is possibly connected to the trunked signal issue as those frequencies don't have tones). For the record as well, this did not occur after sending programming/updates to the scanner. This also all suddenly started occurring at the same time.

Things I've already done:
Sent an update from a file before the issue started occurring = no change
Wiped the scanner and rebooted my systems back on to it = no change
Due to my scanner having been mounted in my car, I've brought it inside thinking it may somehow be a temperature issue = no change at +24 hours indoors.

Has anyone else encountered an issue like this before or know what may be going on and how to remedy it?

Thank you

Sounds like the squelch is open to me.
Big dumb me... The one thing I didn't check. You were correct! I must have knocked it by accident. Simple solution... Apologies for overcomplicating things, and thank you for the solution to my Occam's razor.

We all knew the answer to your problem because it's happened to us all before, you're in good company 🙂
