I am trying to program Montgomery County PA trunking system into the scanner.
I have tried downloading the database from here directly into the scanner.
It scans and receives a signal on the control channels, but That's all it does. I have it on ID Search and it never stops scanning.

Conventional frequencies work just fine.

Looking for any help.

Thanks

I'm assuming you used something like FreeScan that as part of the download process, the correct system type is chosen.

Is this a simulcast system? Sometimes they can be a problem to decode and transmissions are missed. If it is, I'd try taking the scanner to within 1/4 mile of a site and see what happens. If you hear things there, that pretty much confirms a simulcast problem.

There are possible solutions if that is the case.

Both sites on that system are simulcast that is probably your problem. See an explanation and tips on this link - Simulcast digital distortion - The RadioReference Wiki

You can also click on the little red and white triangle in the upper right-hand corner of your post and ask a moderator to move this thread to the PA regional forum where others from your area can give you some specific tips on receiving this system. Good Luck.
