Is there a way to set a volume offset on new talk group IDs that you find when ID searching? It seems that the volume offset can only be programmed on talk group IDs in your group lists.

And same thing with conventional. Is there a way to turn on volume offset when doing a custom or service search?

It's easy once it's entered as part of what you are scanning (not searching)

It's part of the channel settings, which you can reach by just pressing enter when the channel is active on scan. Then you can just flip through the characteristics from name to volume offset.

But that means you have to program in a frequency or talk group. I'm hoping to make it do this for any new talk group IDs found during ID SEARCH.

Until it is entered as a frequency in the radios database, those characteristics don't exist to program. In other words, they are only available when in scan for conventional, and scan or search (already entered talkgroups) for trunked systems.

Normal search mode does not have yhe SD e characteristics.
