I have a BCD996P2 that is being used in our dispatch center. I have programmed the unit using FreeScan and importing RadioReference database. The scanner works for a few days then quits receiving radio traffic. I have tried to re-program it but nothing works. Can anyone help me?

If there are radios you use that are close to it probably hosed the front end of it

A rolling control channel. Is all freqs in the system programmed?

could it be turned on and off ?
the radio is supposed to mute when it detects encryption.

I agree. Make sure you have all the frequencies programmed.

Agreed - make sure all control channels (PRI and ALT) are programmed.

You didn't give any system details, so we have to assume some things that may or may not be true.
