The scanner is actually fed to a speaker that was mounted to the center console. If you look in the second picture, you'll partially see a motorola speaker on the left side.
I'll also try to snap a few pictures with the console out of the car. I have to take it out anyway since i'll be driving into Canada on thursday and will be spending a few days there. Don't want to questions or confused looks from customs officials.
