BCD996T for Viper?

I am talking to a guy on FB from Fayetteville. He is trying to use a 996T to listen to Viper but when he leaves his house he stops hearing everything. Am I correct in telling him he needs to program additional control channels? He tried to join the forum but got banned on his first post due to "spam"?

Thanks @wtp I will ask him that. I'm blessed to have a 536 and an SDS, so I don't have to worry about manually programming.

Freescan works great for programming 996's

So does Proscan…I tried Freescan but the lack of updates drove me nuts! I program 12 536HPs for work and my own 996P2 all with the same FLs but use QK so each radio scans something different!

Not sure what you mean by Freescan updates. I've used Freescan to easily program NC VIPER sites in my 2 BCD 996's for several years

Indeed. As noted on their downloads page there hasn't been an app update since 2015. I'm guessing the developer(s) abandoned the project, especially when much more feature-packed apps available like Proscan which is updated regularly exist

Why do you need FreeSCAN updates for a BCD996T? The scanner is not capable of DMR or NXDN. FreeSCAN will serve you nicely with the 996T and it is FREE! Here is the link: Downloads - Sixspot Software
