Is anyone using the GPS Feature for the State Police System? I have been thinking about getting a GPS Antenna for the scanner and using that feature but I wanted to see if it was worth it and how it worked. Also, I am open to any recommendations.

You don't just need a GPS antenna for the 996, you need a GPS with a serial output. Look in the scanner documentation and you'll see what you need. Not all GPS units are compatible with the scanner.

unfortunately the CSP radio system's zones cover odd shaped and relatively small areas. The scanner will only accept a radius around a single point for each system.

The problem I ran into trying to set up mine AND still keep the scan time under 5 seconds, was overlap with other zones, different traffic on several zones, and the size of the coverage area of each zone (especially the Intellirepeater Sites).

I finally gave up until the radio will accept user generated coverage shapes/sizes

Hey cg...
Do you know where I could find a diagram of the CSP radio system zones? I've been looking for a map with diagrams of the different troop areas, frequencys and radio system zones.
Thanks
