Hi everyone
I am using the ARC996 to program my BCD996T for montgomery county MD which has rebanded
I import the info from RR here and when it is in scann mode and montgomery is dispatching my pro 96 will pick it up but my BCD will not. Even when i have it on a group key byitself it still does not pick up montgomery 98% of the time..
YEs i have tried to use proscan also and im still trying to figure out how to open database and then use the RR modules ..
ANyone have any ideas??
It will pick up the srounding counties around montgomery with no trouble at all.
Im about ready to shoot it

In this case, the thing it seems you're missing is allocating a site quick key. In the 996T (and several other DMA scanners), trunking is done at the site level. You need at least one group quick key for each group that contains talkgroups you want to hear.

Really, you should read the Easier to Read manual - it will tell you a lot about what you're missing. We have quite a complete set of articles in our wiki to help you along

Program your DMA Scanner - The RadioReference Wiki

The links to the Easier to Read manuals is at the bottom... and ...

Uniden DMA FAQ - The RadioReference Wiki

Between these 2 sources, they should answer probably 90% of the questions you will have...Mike

To open a database in ProScan go to the Database menu and click on New then choose a name and hit OK. Now a database is opened. To import from RR go to the Database menu and click on RR Import. Once the RR dialog appears, enter your login info.

OK, I have the latest firmware for the 996T and the latest release of ARC996 Pro from BuTel. I need to know specifically where I find this "Site Setting Menu" and the "Edit Band Plan" that is referenced on the link above. Is this only addressable through manual programming on the keypad?

Have you added a Site to the desired System ? Is the System a Motorola Type 2/P25 ?
Is the Site System Type a Motorola Type 2 800 MHz Custom ?

Select (open ) this Site and you should see a "Edit Custom Banplan"
Click on this and you will see where the info for the Bandplan should is entered.

Thank you for pointing me the right direction. I didn't need to add a site, just update the ones that are being re-banded. I figured out that I needed to used the drop-down on the Site System Type to find the Custom option which then gave me the screen for "Edit Custom Bandplan". Rather than enter the values, the BuTel software has a selection button for "ReBanded" -- clicking that gave me the table values from the other responses and the Uniden RR Wiki page.

Staying at the top of the learning curve on this stuff is challenging but having this website certainly makes it easier. Thanks again...

EDIT TO ADD: Found a humorous "glitch" in the BuTel software for my 396XT while updating rebanded sites - when selecting "Custom" and the "Bandplan" screen comes up, the option button is labeled "Rebandit" instead of what was on the same screen for the 996T which was spelled correctly. Not being nitpicky, just found it humorous since it could sound that way to someone whose first language is not English (BuTel is based in The Netherlands).
