Hey all,

I'm having trouble following the Nashville P25 trunked system(primarily the public saftey site) with my 996. I've tried everything i can think of but can't for the life of me get it to work.

Here's what I know.

-If I use one of the custom search ranges w/ "trunked channel only" enabled it follows the system fine, but if I program the system in it just wont follow.

-When the scanner is id scanning or id searching, the signal indicator keeps dropping off, where on other systems it's steady.

-My 250d follows just fine on both the stock rubber duck and a RS discone, as does the 996 in the search mode.

According to the database, that is not a P25 system. It is a Motorola 800 Type II system that has some P25 channels. You should program it as a Type II.

Hmm, I think i missed something. When I go to program the system, the menu gives me the options Type I, Type II/P25, EDACS, etc. I don't see any differentiation between the two when programming. I also programmed the system w/ ProScan.

When you program the Site, you need to select Type II.

Ok, gotcha. I had a brain fart there. What had happened is when I imported from the DB directly to ProScan it put it in as p25, manually programming the site did the trick.

j0nnyb1aze,

I thought there may have been a ProScan RR import logic error but it appears its working correctly as the system imported as "Motorola Type 2 / P25" and the Public Safety site imported as "800 MHz Standard".

You may have noticed the P25 in "Motorola Type 2 / P25" and thought that it's a P25 system and/or inadvertently changed the site type from "800 MHz Standard" to "P25".

This is the system I looked at.

When I import it now, it works properly. I may have inadvertantly changed it, though i did just update to 1.8.2, so it may have been a bug in 1.7. It's working fine now, so all is well.
