Good Morning-

I've been searching this forum, as well as the Uniden forum here on RR, and haven't found the detail I'm seeking. Plus, would be interested in what folks are experiencing here in CO, especially as it relates to the State of CO DTRS.

I'm running the latest firmware (03.01) Here are my questions:

1. Can someone further explain the P25 Threshold Level tuning options for the 996T? I'm having a hard-time interpreting the instructions in the manual. Is there just one parameter being adjusted (P25 Level, 1-20)?

2. In the "Adjust P25 Level" option, what do the 3 voltage levels on the bottom line indicate, and how does that help with the tuning? Is it just the ERR value that assists with the tuing? Despite adjusting the P25 level in this mode, it still dynamically changes during subsequent transmissions (guess that's the "auto" feature working), but I see no way to confirm what the optimized start-point is.

3. It looks like you can't change P25 Threshold Level on a per-site basis through the embedded menus, is there a workaround (aside from using the software of course)?

4. What P25 settings are people finding to be optimal on the state DTRS system? Perhaps it varies by site.

Next, I plan to play with REF GAIN, and RES TIME, we'll see how that goes.

THANKS in advance for your input!

First, see my reply to you on the Uniden forum. It points you to an easier to read manual for the 396T (similar I presume to the 996T re P25 level). I found that site very helpful in understanding it.

Also, I would think that you should have your 'sites' separated by 'system', so you would be able to control P25 level by site(system). All that being said, I found the 'auto' level adjustment to be either too difficult to get perfect, or not working as well as I think it should, and found that setting a 'manual' level of about 8 to 10 works just as well for the systems I use in Texas.

I don't know anything about CO systems - just noticed this post, since I happened to have asked a question in this forum the other day.
