BCD996T problem

I have a system that I monitor that continues to send even when I hit the proper button to turn it off.Even when I lock it out it continues to show on the screen. Does anyone have any idea how to rectify this issue?
Could this be the beginning of the end of the scanner?It is five years old

What do you mean by 'continues to send' and 'even when I hit the proper button to turn it off''?? This is entirely to vague to even begin to diagnose. Is this system one of the pre-programmed ones? Is it something you programmed? More information needed...Mike

What I am saying is when I press the system button to stop monitoring the system it continues and doesn't stop monitoring. Just started doing this deal.
I turned off the scanner and unplugged it. Now it doesn't do it. I programmed it.
