I have a problem and a question with programming my 996 with the Uniden Advanced Scanner Director.

One thing is, is that it seems that all of the things that came with the software (i.e. all of the preprogrammed systems on the scanner/common freqs) I cannot program back onto the scanner. A message comes up saying "Nothing to Scan" even though the system is unlocked, and has frequencies. This happens with both trunked and conventional systems. Could anybody please tell me why this happens?

Another thing is, is that somehow I managed to accidentally delete my MPSCS radio system from the preprogrammed systems that came with the scanner, so if anybody can send me something or refer me to a web page that has Lat. and Lon. information so that I can put that back in (I already have to sites and freqs back in there), that would be great.

Well, nothing on that page helped. Everything that goes to my scanner through the software is sent as "unlocked" and everything on the scanner says unlocked. Like I said, everything that came on the scanner, I cannot program back. If I program a system using the PC and send it to my scanner, it works great, but lets say that I want to put the Nationwide system on my scanner. It will be transfered, but it won't scan once it is on the scanner. The frequencies are there, the alpha tags are there, everything is unlocked, everything is enabled.

I don't know if this helps or not, but this is what the scanner reads at the bottom of the screen:
S2:---------*
GRP:----------

Perhaps there is something there I should change? I don't program any of my other systems to have a GQK, SQK, or a startup key. They all say:
S0:----------
GRP:----------

That means that the Nationwide system is not enabled. It is assigned to SQK 20. According to the 1st display you show, SQK 20 is disabled (there is an astererisk in that position). To enable the SQK so that the system(s) assigned to it are scanned, while scanning press . 2 0 (three keystrokes: dot, two, zero).
