We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. I am curious to see how the 996's sensitivity is, especially in the VHF-HI band? Any of you new owners have any sensitivity reports?

I love the BC246 (Close Call) so much that I plan on getting a BCT15 for my truck (no digital in my area yet). If the 996 has good sensitivity, maybee the same will be true for the BCT15.

Re:BCD996T

The sensitivity & selectivity on all bands are great with this new scanner. The internal speaker audio sounds better than an external speaker due to to much treable not enough base.It actually hurts your ears @ loud levels. My BC780XLT has better audio than the 996Twith an external speaker. Other than that it is worth the money for it.

I found it to be extremely sensitive and the selectivity is great too but attenuation may be in order at times.

I am very satisfied with it! VERY!
