Hello! I'm on the latest firmware 1.07.03 on my 996XT and I have successfully added alpha tags for user IDs but the Alert function (audible or visible) does not seem to work. . is there a trick to this or is it simply not a feature? The x36HP series DOES support alerting for UIDs. THANKS!

I don't think the 996xt alerts for UIDs. When the 996xt first came out, it's original firmware could not even decode UID. A firmware enhancement resulted in this capability, but I believe the alert stuff in that table still refers to Talkgroup ID and not user, as it is just using that talkgroup table with a small "i" in front to designate UID from TGID.
You are also limited to a total of 500 records per system (record = frequency, TGID, UID) by the memory architecture.
