What makes you think new FW is coming out?

New firmware is only released to correct current, known, and correctable issues. This is not something that is done on a scheduled basis.

With the release of the new HP scanners I would be surprised to see any more BCDx96XT FW updates.

Seeing 436 and the 536 as the now top priority is Great, I would Like to get one soon my self.. And they should receive the greater share of Updates..

But the 396/996 still has a great following and in some cases are still being bought.. possibly over the new one's I think if an update will help either unit to prolong there Life in scanning I think they should still be able to get them.. as well.. Bear
