I regularly travel with a friend who uses one in his truck and car, both of which have permanent 1/4 wave airband whips on the trunk or in one of the cab stake wells (ok, not the greatest, but someday we'll drill for an nmo mount on the roof..)
It does a great job mobile. However, there are pockets of your typical pager / fm desense that can affect all wideband scanners as we drive around. The front-end is well behaved for the most part so we just haven't gotten around to installing a filter. Close Call alerts are a lot of fun, and having the various display / alert options helps us keep our eyes on the road rather than looking at the display all the time. Very happy with it for VHF airband mobile.
