BCD996XT Reset

I know how to do a full hard reset but I wonder if there is a soft reset that will not destroy existing programming. My 996XT locked up hard in Bandscope mode and I could not exit from it. Obviously I tried SCAN (which has always worked before) as well as various MENU options....

I am thinking if you unplug it, it has no choice but to start over when you plug it back in

LOL...being new to scanning and new to the 996XT, every time in the last few days it started doing something funny, because I changed some thing without knowing it, I just download the file from freescan and started over. Works for me, one day I'll learn what I am doing and won't have to do that...maybe work for you too

How do you do a hard rest again?

Many if not all of these likely work for the XT scanners too - just look for the 'initialize memory' item..
