I have my scanner set with my county SAME code and it alerts me for my county when I am im weather mode.

My question is when I am in scan mode scanning police frequencies and I have WX priority turned on, it alerts me for ALL alerts not just my county, does it not just monitor my SAME code in regular scan mode

Because it does not have dual receivers, it samples the WX channel every couple seconds when scanning other things. It listens for the old 1090 Hz tone and sounds the alert if it detects that tone. There is no way for it to listen for the SAME data as it no longer sits on the WX channel long enough to decode the SAME data.
