As a quick workaround, hit the HOME key immediately after this happens. Should at least bring you up the stack... or CTRL+PAGE-UP or CTRL+UP ARROW

It's annoying on my 32" monitor as well. Very poor programming - I swear it was designed to annoy the end user rather than be a useful tool.

I don't believe so. It could be a simple matter of the hired programmer not having much experience with modern UI and / or using off the shelf APIs or tabular interface controls ... Each IDE has its own set of libraries and if you stick to them, you can paint yourself into a corner.
Some programmers code from scratch soup to nuts. Some simply put together available off the shelf components. It's all relative. I don;t think anything was designed to be annoying on purpose.
Then there is the Developer Mentality. It can make perfect technical sense to the developers

Any chance of getting an update on the status of the Siren App. I can't imagine how many people that do not frequent here must be calling Uniden asking about the app and how to access it. You had mentioned a possible beta version, anything on that front? This really is the only reason I purchased this Scanner and would like to know if any progress is being made.

I just received my BCD536HP a few days ago, I am very disappointed with the lack of documentation, tutorials on this product, it's fine for you old school guys, but for newbies it sucks. I bought this on amazon and if the siren app is not released on time back it goes, I have less problems listening to my scanner app on my ipad, for $600+ I would recommend to wait to see if they keep their word and have decent support. Please don't trash me for being a newbie, or being disappointed!!

So they have until March 31 to deliver the app, then.
Amen brother.. its really quite annoying that Uniden has released a really nice product yet not released the app that is advertised. My patience is also wearing thin.. I went out and bought it right away.. I would have held off if I knew it wasn't out with the radio.. and I am sure some of the people on here who are "Pro Uniden" will jump in to defend like they always do... but like yourself I have more in my life than reading through 60+ pages of crap to find out the details. It would have been smarter for them to hold off on the release until the product was 100% ready then to make us wait.

Yep, and it have 90 day to return, my biggest concern is documentation and support on this scanner
I am really annoyed that the app is not out.. If I recall correctly UPMan said a couple weeks ago that a beta release was to be out shortly..that was about 1.5-2 weeks ago if I recall..

As for support, you're posting in a forum that has at least 118 separate threads on the 436 and 536. The Uniden Product Manager posts in here regularly. People who have used the scanner since it became available to them post in here regularly. What other kind of support are you looking for?

All a matter of opinion. It is impossible to please everyone, people will complain no matter what. Release the scanner but not the app, complaints. Don't release the scanner till the app is ready, complaints.
It was pretty common knowledge that the app wasn't available when the scanner went on sale, and I am not what you call Pro Uniden, this is the first Uniden I've purchased in ages, been a GRE/RS user for years.
What you think he said and what he actually said are two different things, which I find common with customers, they only hear what they want to hear. He never said soon, quite the opposit in fact.

Looks like NHdave might be looking for free stuff from uniden, think of it from a newbie point of view, as far as help from posts on here, every time a thread gets to helping it gets locked and then you have to start all over in a new thread they start. How about somebody starting a new section and have a "walk through" or a "getting started" ... Wait, how about upman create a topic like that, that is something that would actually help a newbie!!!
I fail to see how my posts would get me free stuff from Uniden, I'm just applying some common sense, which seems to be lacking in a few people.

They are useless, so many part ones, so little part 2's. He wants you to assume the technical stuff that he trying to teach you, how about a hd vid on quick key from sentinel, then upload and edit on scanner
