This is going to sound cruel, harsh, and insensitive.

Why would a scanning newbie start out with a complex, high performance, top-of-the-line scanner? I don't see many high school driver's ed classes being taught in Ferraris, if you get my point.

Maybe because of this, straight from the Uniden site.....

HomePatrol Series Digital Mobile Scanner with WiFi
SKU: BCD536HP***Brand New Product*** The BCD536HP continues Uniden's tradition of leading innovation. HomePatrol Programming makes it the easiest-to-program mobile professional scanner we've ever made.

That's not the same link from the post you were quoting, which was clearly Pauls channel.

He's cut into a reply that W9BU made to me, about videos, and thinks that W9BU was talking about him and the last video he watched.

You can have a video on YouTube the is not searchable only accessed with a direct link, and this video was only accessible though a link on RR, it's pretty much common sense!

First off, you didn't worded it properly for one to understand correctly for it to be "common sense".

I think what you mean to say was "Is this a private video that I need a direct link to or can I search for it on YouTube". That would have made much more sense.

Second, if you returned your radio why are you still looking for tutorials and derailing this thread?

This thread is suppose to be about the BCDx36HP Sentinel Software and Siren App Discussion and you're looking for support on how to use the radio. That's great but, take it to the correct thread or start your own and quit derailing this one.

Actually, poor analogy. Current Ferraris are easier to drive than most manual transmission cars. They now have electronic computer operated clutch, sequential paddle shifted transmissions. ;)

I only did direct links on a few of the videos because I didn't know how long I was planning on leaving them up. I know UPMan said he was going to do a multipart series which would have been more detailed then my quickly done productions. I went ahead and added the link in the wiki for now if users are looking for it.

Dan after watching your video I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong, thank you very much. Please leave it up for others and make it searchable on YouTube, along with other vids, if you have more.

Thanks
Greg

Thank you for all your videos, I have watched them all, even the one you just added.

Greg

I sure hope they helped you and made some sense. I'm so new at using the Sentinel software, I didn't pronounce it correctly in many of the videos. Oh well, I'm learning along with everyone else. This is one part of the hobby I really enjoy, trying to figure out how new scanners work.

Because they can and want to do so.

That's what's great about the US; we want to do something and arrange to do that.

On your trunking discovery video, can you explain in more detail at 1:00 min in, about inputting the system name?

The scanner is looking for a trunking system to 'discover'. Meaning, we have to put a trunking system name into that search field. So, first we have to program a trunking system into our scanner, and then use that trunked system name in that menu option. For example: I have 'NAS Pensacola' programmed into my scanner. In order to run trunking discovery for that system, I have to put 'NAS Pensacola' in that menu field.
