I'm thinking about getting a new BCT-15 and was wondering if it will monitor trunked freqs. automatically or do they have to be manually programed?

You need to program the frequencies. It is easy with the huge database on this site.

You must program regardless if done manually , or via software.

If it is like the Uniden 996T, you can shorten programming on Motorola systems by only need to program in the control channels. For a system like MECA in Indianapolis, you only need 4 rather 27.

i think i`m buying one to add to my arsenal.. it would look nice with my 996t and 396t. i can get one for right over 200 bucks brand new unopened.

Thanks for the replies. I'm in South Carolina. The trunking system here is called Palmetto 800 but I'm not sure what system it is.

Buffalo,
Palmetto800 does use some digital talkgroups. If you want to hear those you would need to buy a 996 or 396.
