BCT15X: BCT 15 X Frequencies

Hi all, I have a BCT 15 X and I'm a keen milly air listener here in the UK. Listening on some frequencies say 252.1250 and I want to knock it up or down by 5 KHZ to 252.1255 but when I try to enter the new frequency it reverts to 252.1250 I have changed the step to 5 KHZ in band defaults but still doing it. I would really appreciate any help you can offer.

The scanner will automatically round it off. It is close enough that it won't make a difference.

Hi W8RMH, many thanks for the reply. That's what I thought and thanks for confirming it, the reason why I wanted to try and shift frequency was sometimes the signal is barely audible so wanted to alter frequency to see if that helps.

You're only changing by 500Hz not 5KHz. A 5KHz change would be like going from 252.125MHz to 252.130MHz so when you try to go to 252.1255MHz you only raised it by 500Hz or 0.5KHz. The scanner is rounding correctly as the previous poster said and the IF bandwidth is wide enough that a 500Hz change would not normally be noticeable, at least on standard AM and FM transmissions.
