Here's the situation......

If I'm listening to 2 banks on my BCT8, the first bank is conventional frequencies, and the 2nd bank is a trunk system. Let's say I want to turn off the 2nd bank (trunk system), and only listen to the 1st bank.

When I hit the key for bank 2 while scanning to turn it off, it turns off the 2nd bank of my "trunk ID LIST" instead.

What is the secret to turning off the banks only, while scanning trunk banks?
It seems like you have to time it exactly to when it is on the conventional banks, or it just gets into the "LIST" banks.

Tried just turning off the "trunk" button, but then it just holds up on the control channels.

Anyone had trouble with this? and have any sugestions?

when the unit is in id scan trunking mode, pressing a number on the keypad turns off a bank of ids. to get around this, when the radio scans the trunking system, put the radio in search mode. then you can turn on or off any frequency bank that you desire.

hope this helps

Pressing the DATA button will allow you to toggle back and forth between list mode and bank mode. The display will show either LIST or BANK at the top. LIST will allow you to turn off ID lists within a trunk system. Bank locks out an entire bank of frequencies.

I don't think that this is in the manual.

the easiest way i do it, is to turn trunking off first, and then hit bank 2 (if its not stopped on the data channel).

Got home and tried the "data" thing, and the "search" thing. Both worked flawlessly! Thanks for the tips! :D

That's something they should include in the owners manual.

Definitely should be in the manual. I guess it was an oversight. Another thing that isn't in the manual, at least I couldn't find it is how to reset the memory. Unlike other Uniden scanners holding 2, 9, Manual/Hold while powering on the scanner won't do it. You have to hold 2, 9, RMT while powering on the scanner.
