BCT 8 HOLD/SCAN button not working

Had a BCT8 for past 6 years. Suddenly the HOLD/SCAN button stopped functioning. The same thing happened on my BCT15 and I read a post on this forum about resetting a ribbon cable connector and was able to fix it. Does it sound like the same thing may apply to the BCT8 ?

Confirmed Fix, removed and reinsserted ribbon cable connector from pc board to main board and now HOLD/SCan works as well as the arrow keys.
