I purchased the ARC8 software for $40 and could not get it to work with USB to Serial connector running Windows 7 x64. Unfortunately my PC did not have a serial port so the USB was my only option. After a few hours and much frustration I started looking for something else and found "Trunkstar XLT" which offered a free trial for 15 days. Within minutes I had all of the control frequencies programed for the EDACS system in my county. I then used the "ID search Mode" for the BCT-8, and had all of the talkgroups programed that I wanted in no time at all. I am a scanning noob but I wanted to post this for anybody else that is having problems with the ARC8 software. Happy scanning.
