What is the difference that sets the price apart on the BCT996 and the BCT15?

They look the same but co$t is different....I'm guessing analog only on the '15?

Im new to Uniden scanners so cope with me heh.

Thanks
Ray.

BCT15 Analog, 2500 Channels, has Beartracker feature.

The digital capability is what makes the price higher.

hope this helps.

So the 996 is like a 396...
...and the 15 is like a 330? :)

Sort of. They are, in effect, base/mobile relatives of the 396 & 330 respectively. However, they do have features, besides GPS, that the 396 & 330 do not have, such as selective start up configuration, temporary lockout. The BCT-15 does not have the same extendeded range frequency coverage of the BR330.

I would say the BCT15 is the mobile version of the BC246 with a few extra features
