Hello,
I have a newly programmed BCT15. I have managed to get all the conventional and trunked systems in my area into the radio. I am getting decent reception on most everything except Highway Patrol. The Bearcat warning seems to work, but the HP freq's like 42.6000 etc do not tune in. The radio can find them and it shows up on the radio screen as California Highway Patrol, but all I am getting is annoying noise.

I have everything installed in my truck along with a glass mount antenna (which might be the problem). But since most all other systems, both conv and trunked work well, I am hesitant to blame the antenna.

Any advice on where to look first or some other settings I might try are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Pat

Pat,

They may be APCO-25 Digital. The sound you describe sounds like it to me. Where in N. Cali are you? What City?

I am around the Sacramento area. When I first got the unit I had it set up in my home office to start learning and programming. I swore I heard the CHP as "California Highway Patrol: scrolled y. I looked through the DB and did not see APCO25 for anything I was interested in hearing.

BTW, I'm in Utah until Wed.

Thanks for your help,
Pat
