I must have done something wrong. it was scanning the two LTR groups which I used quick keys 3 and 4 for with the word scan going across the screen just like my conventional group does which is on quick key 2. I remember turning the big function knob once to the right I think, during scan and then it changed to ID Search on both, of the ltr groups and I can't seem to get it back the way it was? I tried going into menu but, the only options I could find in there was ID Scan or ID Search. I would surely welcome any ideas to get it like it was. Yep! I've never owned a scanner like this but, do like the way it receives! Thanks!

I think I understand what your saying. You want to go back to SCAN mode. Then hit the FUNCTION KNOB and hit SCAN/SEARCH button. That should change it back to scan.

You did push in on the Function knob, not turn it. You should hear a beep with a "F" in the top left corner, then hit SCAN/SEARCH. Make sure your on that system when you do it.

That's the way I did it. it says ID Scan as it goes across the screen but, the EMS does pop in. I think maybe just that one frequency is the one that is used I had to move it so it would be first in the order the frequencies went in to the scanner from free scan but then it started picking up.I think that must be the LCN channel? maybe, I need to lock out the other frequencies that are being scanned but, have no action? hope I'm not confusing you as bad, as I am. Lol!

Now that I think about it, maybe when scanning trunked channels maybe it's suppose to say ID Scan or, search scan instead of just plain old scan as the conventional channels? I'm going to try reading and searching some more. I'll put my eye drops in and give it another go this darn old Glaucoma makes it a pain in the butt though lol! since I got a larger monitor that helps a lot. Appreciate your help!

I'm not that lost, lol. In conventional mode you are correct and you will only get SCAN. If you’re monitoring a LTR or Trunk system, you will see SCAN or SEARCH. I’m not sure what’s going on. Someone else maybe better at assisting you.

Yeah, I knew my way around the old pro-2006 and a few others I had a fun time putting all 6400 channels in the 2006 that was one of the most tedious mods I did to that scanner but, I'm having more trouble just trying to operate this scanner though lol!

Trunked systems say ID SCAN or ID SEARCH. Conventional systems say SCAN.

ID SCAN = only respond to channel grants for a TGID you have programmed into a channel group and that is not locked out or in a channel group that is disabled or locked out.

ID SEARCH = respond to channel grants for all TGIDS unless you have programmed it into a channel group and locked out the channel or disabled or locked out the channel group.

After thinking about it, I wondered if maybe it should say ID Scan or ID Search when in Trunking mode. I just wanted to verify it with someone who know more about Trunking than I and believe me, what I know about trunking, might half fill a thimble LOL! There just isn't much trunking in this little town. but, I sure do enjoy trying to learn new things. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
