Yesterday, one of my BCT15's developed a problem.

It's been running 24/7 since I got it a year or two ago.

Now it's stuck displaying the copyright screen.
If I unplug the AC adapter for a minute or so it will first display the 'Welcome' screen and then go to the copyright screen and hang there forever.

I suspect that it's off to Uniden for repair but first I wanted to check to see if anyone else had this problem and found a way to get out of it.

I've tried multiple AC adapters.

Thanks,
Rich

Try to do the factory restore on it. While pressing [2], [9], and [HOLD] at the same time, turn on power.
It'll wipe out everything but, that's probably the first thing the factory will do when they receive it.

I tried that initially but it didn't have any effect.

I'll try re-seating the internal cable and if that doesn't work, it's off to Uniden.

I have two BCT15's. One failed last year. The second just failed. I had thought about buying a few more but with a 100% failure rate, I think I'll pass on that idea.

Thanks,

Not to threadjack, and not to bash Uniden, but I ran into a problem with a BR330T and several BCT15s over the period of a couple of years. The BR330T had the (in)famous speaker problem. On to the BCT15... the first two had a bad buzzing noise from the wall wart power supply. The third, ordered about a year later (figured Uniden would clear up any problems by then) put off a horrible burning smell from the scanner itself.

I really, really wanted to stick with Uniden but couldn't justify it. The BCT15 was the perfect scanner for what I needed. Unfortunately I get the feeling that build quality is slipping a little bit. Hopefully whatever UPMan is announcing at the end of this month draws me back to the brand.

I know a lot of folks have had nothing but good luck with their BCT15s and in Uniden's defense, I had a BC246T that was great (still kicking myself for getting rid of it, as well as my old 780XLT).
