Hi Guys:

I just found your form, very impressive. I currently have 2 BCT8s and an old 210 XLT. I love the BCT 8 s, I have one in my truck and one in the bedroom ( have to have it on to sleep ).

I was thinking about buying a BCT 15. the instructions look over my head. Ive never had a problem with the BCT8 and have been able to program it by hand or with the computer. I wanted the BCT 15 because of the Alpha tagging, so I will have a name not just a freq. What concerns me is I have my BCT8 set up with 5 banks.

Bank1 is all fire freqs. with one police freq.
Bank 2 is all police
Bank 3 is Marine Coast Guard
Bank 4 is just my Fire Dept and Police Dept
Bank 5 is The freqs for Fire depts. when we travel a few times a year.

I keep Bank 1 and Bank 4 on. If I want extra police I hit button #2. if Im responding to a fire call I hit Button #1 and I only hear My fire and police Dept, with the fire as priority. Can I still set up the BCT15 like I have the BCT8 set up.

Thanks Mike Rothwell

Welcome to RR. The BCT15 uses quick keys to accomplish the same task. You could make each of the 5 "banks" separate systems, and use the system quick keys to turn on and off. However, you may find the flexibility of the System/group memory structure useful to further customize your frequencies. Software will make all this much more user-friendly. BcTool and Free Scan are FREE! You will want to read Uniden DMA FAQ and Easier to Read BCT-15 Manual
